Air Jordan 13 “Squadron Blue”
With the New Year came a brand new color scheme to the Air Jordan 13, the “Squadron Blue” colorway. The Air Jordan 13 “Squadron Blue” brought a breath of fresh air to the late 2012 / early 2013 Air Jordan Retro releases. It’s always cool to see a new colorway appear on such a classic sneaker.
The “Squadron Blue” 13s boasts an all-blue upper ranging from three different materials: mesh, leather, and suede. The inner lining is blue, contrasting with the ‘electric’ yellow lining of the tongue. The tongue also flaunts a yellow Jumpman. The midsole contain alternating blue suede and leather. The outsole is outlined with ‘electric’ yellow and blue in the inner parts. The Jumpman is also featured on the outsole.
Really, the “Squadron Blue” colorway actually fits the Air Jordan 13. It’s not a colorway that Jordan Brand just decided to throw on the 13 and releases it. This colorway is reminiscent of the popular “Black History Month (BHM)” colorway with the incorporation of the ‘electric’ yellow and blue colors. The panther-inspired Air Jordan 13 is not overtaken by the “Squadron Blue” colorway. They complement each other really well.
It’s quite surprising that Jordan Brand didn’t think to release this colorway in earlier years. However, they’re here now and they bring a fresh look to the classic Air Jordan 13s. This colorway could easily make an appearance on the Air Jordan 12s, but don’t hold your breath for that one though.
The Air Jordan 13 Squadron Blue/Electric Yellow – Black or “Squadron Blue”, released on February 9th of this year and retailed at $160. You can still pick them up from a few online resellers for a little more than retail. How do you feel about the fresh look of a new colorway appearing on the 13s?
