Air Jordan 8 Retro GS “Laney”
The “Laney” colorway have appeared on various Air Jordan Retro models before. The “Laney” colorway was inspired by MJ’s high school, Laney High School. In April of this year, Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 8 “Laney” in grade school sizes. A number of AJ 8s have dropped this year paying homage to the 20th anniversary of Michael Jordan’s Three Peat in 1993. These are different look for the 8s that have been released so far.
The AJ 8 “Laney” contains a grey leather and nubuck upper. The dynamic between the two materials is dope causing a different tone to the same color grey. The signature colors of the “Laney” colorway, royal blue and varsity maize, make themselves apparent vibrantly throughout the sneaker. The graphic on the heel, the peculiar tongue patch, and the “23” on the main strap feature the “Laney” colors. The lining of the sneaker is varsity maize. The midsole is royal blue, sitting atop of the white outsole. The bottom of the outsole contains accents of the “Laney” colors.
Not only does the contrasting materials of the upper standout on this AJ 8, but the use of the cool grey. On previous “Laney” colorway models, the upper is usually black. However, the design team at JB decided to spice it up a bit, as they do with most GS retro kicks.
Because these are in GS sizes, they were an easy cop. Not only that, but they released a week before the popular “Bugs Bunny” 8s dropped. Everyone was looking forward to the “Bugs Bunny” release. Nevertheless, the Air Jordan 8 “Laney” is a dope kick, not for everyone, but that’s what makes it even more special. Would you have copped these if these came out in Men’s sizes?
