Nike Air Yeezy 2 Red Octobers Finally Released
Yesterday, Nike dropped the highly anticipated Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red Octobers” sneakers out of nowhere. Unfortunately, if you’re reading this they are already sold out. The whole sneaker world was caught by surprise by Nike. The Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneakers were released online-only on Nikestore.com worldwide. They were sold in a matter of minutes, 11 minutes to be exact.
The release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red Octobers” was announced via Nike’s Twitter post on Sunday the 9th of February 2014 at 1pm EST. If you weren’t ready at the exact right time, they passed you by in an instant leaving many fans of the sneaker empty handed.
The silhouette of the Air Yeezy “Red October” stayed the same as the original Air Yeezy 2 sneakers with some subtle differences. The Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” features a red glow-in-the-dark sole and instead of the python pattern on side panels, they feature little plastic pyramids along the sides and on the lace toggles.
The retail price was considered a bargain at $245 USD. Now, the real hunt for the “Red Octobers” begins. If you’re looking for a pair expect to pay a lot of cash. At the moment, the resell value already reaches prices above $4000+ on eBay.
With such a hyped up shoe, the online-only release seemed a good option from Nike, saving retail shops from any hassle with campers and possible violence regarding the release. We only wish Nike would have released more quantities though.
With the release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October”, the saga between Kanye West and Nike officially comes to an end. Who knows if the Air Yeezy sneakers will ever release again. However, you can look forward to the future as Kanye West signed a deal with Adidas to release his first collection in September.
