Air Jordan XX8 (28) “All Stars”
The Air Jordan XX8 is nothing short of a peculiar basketball sneaker. It looks more like a military boot or maybe even a minimalist sneaker from the future. They are anything but. Along with the head-turning “All Star” colorway, the XX8s make for a loud sneaker on and off of the court. They are the lightest Air Jordan to date making for an excellent performance sneaker. They could be easily one of the best basketball sneakers currently on the market.
As mentioned before, the Air Jordan XX8 “All Stars” is a very unique Air Jordan sneaker. It can be quickly noticed by the shawl that you can wear zipped up, or folded down. The shawl upper is made from a synthetic textile material, providing a sleek and modern look. On the “All Stars” the shawl displays a bright green graphic print that somewhat channels reptiles. The ‘eletric’ green inner bootie is made of mesh to enhance your foot’s breathing room. Straps from the midsole come together with the laces for increased foot support. The midsole is black with wavy grooves, with a clear translucent outsole.
Considering that this is the latest Air Jordan, the technology of the XX8 is undeniable. The highlighted specs include a carbon fiber heel plate, a carbon fiber ‘Flight Plate’ in the foot, and Nike Zoom Air sole within the outsole. This winning team of specs makes for an ultra-light and innovative sneaker.
The “All Stars” made their game day debut at the 2013 All Star Game on the feet of Russell Westbrook. Judging by his performance the Air Jordan XX8 “All Stars” are definitely light on the feet. The “All Stars” hit store shelves that same weekend on 16th of February 2013 for $250. The XX8 isn’t for everyone, but do you see yourself in a pair?
